Capstone Experience:
Residency, Research Projects and Thesis Work


Many students choose to participate in a capstone experience as part of their graduate work in the Integrated Marketing Communication program. Students may complete a residency, research project or write a thesis. Following are examples of work students have completed as part of their capstone experience.

Residency Titles and Organizations


The location for a residency is chosen by the student with approval by the supervisory committee. Typically residencies have been with advertising agencies, public relations firms, marketing research firms, corporations, governmental agencies, and not-for-profit organizations.

Research Project Titles


The majority of research projects are completed in the Digital Marketing Communication track. Please see the Digital Marketing Communication student showcase to view examples of these projects.
